Achens / Secretaries,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

On behalf of the Church of South India in North America, its Clergy and Office Bearers I am glad to announce the 20th Family and Youth Conference to be convened at the Johns’ Town Campus of the Pittsburgh University from June 29th to July 2nd 2006.

1. In this connection I earnestly request you to:-

(a)    Remember the successful conduct and culmination of the conference in your prayer continuously.

(b)   Encourage maximum members from your family and congregations to attend the conference.

(c)    Sincerely try to make it an occasion of spiritual rejuvenation for you.

(d)   Endeavor to make this an opportunity of fellowship and reunion of all CSI people living in North America.

(e)    Make this a time of reconfirm our faith and display our unity and solidarity as believers called for and separated for His witness.

 2. The theme. Our theme for the Conference this time will be a small prayer, “Lord in Your mercy transform this world.” The theme is relevant to us at this time, as the entire World Christian Community will be delving on to this theme during the year. This is more apt to us as members of the CSI Church, for it is necessary to transform ourselves, to get out of the afflictions that we are undergoing at present. Only His mercy can transform and make a change.

 3. Leaders. In addition to the presbyters and bishops, we are trying to get few eminent Christian leaders to guide us and lead us in the conference by their instructions and exhortations. The occasion is certainly going to make a change in us; to revive us both in spirit and outlook. Leaders will be separately relating the theme to the elders, youth and the children. Special care for the children/infants also will be arranged.

4. It is our constant aim to make this an opportunity to get away from the hurly burly of our day today routine, spend some time in introspection and retreat so that a renewal and fresh direction for our life could be facilitated. Do make use of this opportunity.

 5. The tranquil and serene atmosphere prevalent in this mountainous terrain with breezy surroundings will elevate you to a refreshing physical mental and spiritual level. This will also enhance the camaraderie among us.

 6. We are publishing a souvenir in connection with the conference. This souvenir is an ideal means to commemorate your dear and near ones as also to advertise you entrepreneurship. Besides use this as a medium to express your opinions and highlight your thoughts on the theme. Do get maximum advertisements from your contacts and clientele. Have a suitable write-up about your congregation, its mission and outreach activities in this publication.

 7. Conference committees and sub-committees are being constituted to go in to various aspects of events. Registration will commence very soon. Please do help the organizers to arrange for your convenience by early registration.

8. Lastly I can assure you that the days you spend at the conference are going to be the time for rest and recuperation for you and your families. The sightseeing facilities and the hiking trails are very conductive for your outings. Therefore make use of this opportunity to attend the conference. I do anticipate the maximum attendance of our families and youth. May this be an occasion for our blessings and spiritual growth.

                                                                        Yours Sincerely,

                                                                        Major Daniel K David

                                                                        General Convener.
